The building that houses the Gallery, one of the most outstanding art collections in the world, was started in 1560 by Vasari, commissioned by Cosimo I, for making offices ("Uffizi" in fact) of the State of Florence. Vasari conceived a long square, enclosed by the two wings of the building in communication with the Lungarno through a wide staircase.
The extraordinary wealth of the collection and the sheer number of famous works make this visit special only with a private guide, connoisseur of the history of art. In addition, Your private English-speaking guide will help You buy the tickets: at the Uffizi Gallery, disabled visitors will need to have someone pick up their tickets on the west side of the courtyard (there are steps to go there) and wait for them by using the ramp on the northeast corner of the courtyard.  Besides, Your guide will show You the access for disabled for an enjoyable tour.

The Uffizi Gallery is enormously popular with Florence tourists: so it is advisable to make a reservation before, so You don’t have to wait in the line.
